Come on! Let's show off our speaking skills in MFL!

Be sure to add this to your calendar:

The Manchester branch of ALL (Association for Language Learning) is holding a celebration of language learning for your students to get involved with during February!

Please see further details below:

A - Register your interest

Register your interest on behalf of your school in taking part.

B - Preparation

During the month of February, your learners in KS3, KS4, and/or KS5 will prepare and practise a presentation. You decide on the target group(s) in your school.

The presentation may be an individual or group performance; it could be, for example, a monologue (about something that is special to them); a dialogue/role play/playlet (or any topic); an advert (for an item, imaginary or not); a weather forecast; telling a very short story or joke; reciting a poem; singing a song, rap or similar...; the possibilities are almost endless.

You know what your learners enjoy in their language learning and you know their ability.

Challenge Number 1:

The presentation must last no longer than two minutes. It can be in any language they learn in school, but NOT in English.

C - Initial Performances

Initial performances are then held in school, in class or with a wider audience, e.g. year group.

When all performances have been seen, the teacher(s), possibly with the help of learners, will decide which are the best.

Challenge Number 2:

Initially, teacher(s) whittle down their 'best' to a maximum of 2 per Key Stage.

D - Teachers Confirmation

Teachers confirm their intention to take part.

Once we know how many schools are taking part, we can decide upon the maximum number of entries per school for our final celebratory event, which will, this year, be online via Zoom or similar.

Schools will then be invited to participate in that event.

To register your initial interest, please contact Gina Hall: turnerhall4952@aol.com. Please state your name, your email address and name of school.
