How to create a new company

While most companies will already exist within HubSpot, or created in bulk through imports, there will always be occasions when you need to create a company manually. But don't worry, the process couldn't be easier!

  1. From the Companies page, press the orange button in the top-right 'Add companies' and then choose 'Create New' Add company
  2. To create a company, you will need the Company name. Start the form by entering the Company name and company domain. Please note: the domain is the master address rather than the full link, for example: www.google.co.uk/index. Only the highlighted text is the domain.
  3. When creating the company, it will automatically assign you as the Company owner, if this isn't correct, change the owner using the drop-down box, or choose 'No owner'.
  4. Provide as many details as possible for the company record. Create company form

If you are creating a company record for a school, you do not need to complete all of the information boxes as a notification will be sent to Daniel to enrich the record with the correct details. If you would like to complete this yourself, the details must match with the DfE GIAS listing. DfE details
  6. If the company is also used as a venue by the Hub, choose 'Yes' from the Venue drop-down (If not, skip to step 8). You'll then be asked to complete some additional properties.   7. Then complete the venue hire information. As a minimum, room hire rates should be included (if there are different rates for time periods or rooms, please provide all them). All further information including details about refreshments, equipment, parking, and cancellation policies should also be completed. Venue information
  8. To finish, press 'Create'. If you have more than one company to create, instead you can choose 'Create and add another', this will then open the Create Company form for you again.

URNs and domains are unique identifiers within HubSpot. If you try to create a company and the URN or domain already exists, this means that the company already exists within HubSpot.

Please ensure URNs are the current URN (they may have changed if the school has joined a trust).

Please ensure School and Trust names are identical to how they appear on the DfE GIAS listing.
