Over the last academic year, we have delivered over 100 ECT training sessions developing over 480 ECTs. We couldn’t have done this without your support and commitment to the development of new teachers across Oldham, Tameside, and the wider area! THANK YOU!
Now it’s time to get ready for the year ahead.

ECTE | A Brief Reminder
Since September 2025, new teachers have engaged with the newly titled Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE), which includes a two-year statutory induction process with an Appropriate Body, and continued engagement with a structured two-year package of high-quality professional development now called the Early Career Teacher Programme (ECTP).
Please note that ECTs who started their training prior to April 2025 on the original Early Career Framework (ECF) programme will continue on this programme and we will support them on a case-by-case basis.
Autumn 2026
Your ECTs and Mentors must attend a conference with East Manchester to kick-start (or continue) their engagement with the relevant ECT programme.
Please secure places for your ECTs and Mentors at an appropriate event listed below.
Induction Tutors
New Induction Tutor Training

This training is for NEW Induction Tutors and those who haven't attended our face-to-face training previously.
Induction Tutor Refresher Training
📅 Thursday 15th October
🕐 1.00-4.00pm
📍 Stalybridge Civic Hall
This training is for ALL Induction Tutors who have previously completed training. You are required to attend refresher training every two years

This conference is for new mentors of Year One ECTs. This is inclusive of April 2026 ECTs. It also includes…
- any mentors who have previously completed mentor training requiring an update on the new programme.
- any mentors who are currently engaged with (or previously completed parts of) the ECF Mentor programme.
- New mentors supporting a Year Two ECT from September.
