Over the last academic year, we have delivered over 130 ECT training sessions developing over 450 ECTs. We couldn’t have done this without your support and commitment to the development of new teachers across Oldham, Tameside, and the wider area! THANK YOU!
Now it’s time to get ready for the year ahead, which will be a year of transition!

Early Career Teachers | A Year of Transition
Since 2021, new teachers have engaged with a two-year statutory induction process underpinned by their engagement with the Early Career Framework (ECF): a fully funded entitlement to a structured two-year package of high-quality professional development.
From September 2025, new teachers will engage with the newly titled Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE), which includes a two-year statutory induction process with an Appropriate Body, and continued engagement with a structured two-year package of high-quality professional development.

Induction Tutor Events

This training is for new Induction Tutors and current Induction Tutors those who haven’t attended our face-to-face training previously.

Your ECTs and Mentors must attend a conference with East Manchester to kick-start (or continue) their engagement with the relevant ECT programme.

Event Two | Induction Tutor Refresher Training

This training is for ALL Induction Tutors who have previously completed training. You are required to attend refresher training every two years

Year One Mentors
This conference is for new mentors of Year One ECTs. This is inclusive of April 2025 ECTs. It also includes…
- any mentors who have previously completed mentor training requiring an update on the new programme.
- any mentors who are currently engaged with (or previously completed parts of) the ECF Mentor programme.
- New mentors supporting a Year Two ECT from September.
